Apple Interview Process: What to Expect in 2026
Apple interviews are secretive, team-specific, and heavily focused on culture fit and passion for craft. Here's what you need to know.
Apple's Unique Interview Style
- Team-specific — Your resume goes directly to the hiring team, not a central recruiter
- Culture-heavy — "Why Apple?" is asked in almost every round
- Product passion — You're expected to be an Apple user who cares about product quality
- Secrecy — Interviewers can't share details about their projects. Don't ask about unreleased products.
Interview Rounds
- Recruiter Call — Background check, salary expectations
- Technical Phone Screen — Coding problem on shared editor
- Onsite (5-8 rounds!) — Apple onsites are longer than most:
- 2-3 Technical/Coding rounds
- 1 System Design (for senior roles)
- 2-3 Behavioral/Culture rounds
- 1 Hiring Manager round
Preparation Strategy
Focus on coding fundamentals (AI coding assistance), system design for Apple-scale challenges, and prepare compelling "Why Apple?" and "passion for product" stories using the STAR method.
